Goodyear agrees to sell to Titan its farm-tire businesses in Europe, Latin America
Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has agreed to sell its European and Latin American farm-tire businesses to Titan Tire Corp., a unit of Titan International Inc. of Quincy, Ill.
Goodyear, which had said last year it was looking into such a move, said Monday that the deal and a licensing agreement will be worth about $130 million.
Goodyear sold its North American farm-tire business, including a plant in Freeport, Ill., to Titan in 2005.
Goodyear Chairman and CEO Richard J. Kramer said the sale is in line with the Akron-based company's focus on its core consumer and commercial tire businesses.
